I'm ready for the sandy beaches of New England. I'm looking forward to ocean kayaking with the family on Cape Cod. Plus hitting the Long Island Sound with friends relaxing on the beach and stopping for an ice cream before heading back to our "real life" of normalcy. What is your favorite part of summer, or do you prefer another season better? Mojo Monday #494 sketch challenge. I decided to use my High Tides stamp set with By the Shore designer paper. Then I added some starfish as accents and distressed the lighthouse and seagulls since often at Cape Cod it's overcast in the morning and evening on the water. I hope you enjoy this card. http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2017/04/mojo-monday-494.html?m=1 List of supplies:

I'm feeling the midweek slump. How about everyone else? I actually went back to my stamps I bought from last June's stamp show at the Big E fair grounds in West Springfield Massachusetts. "Corinne" spoke to me for this birthday card. I had never been to a stamp show before that weekend, and had only made a few simple cards for a few friends and family. So needless to say my stock of supplies was tiny. I left that day with quite a few great supplies including the Misti! My good friend L.J. had showed me the ropes that day and I've been stamping ever since. Case this Sketch #218 challenge was a great sketch idea. I had to decide how I wanted to keep it interesting and different. I've mixed some of my "so called" old and new stamps for this card. I hope you all enjoy. http://casethissketch.blogspot.com/?m=1 List of supplies:

I'm spending the weekend at my sister's on Cape Cod. I certainly don't have anything to complain about with that, but when you cross over the Bourne Bridge the temperature does tend to drop 20 degrees. Luckily it's a sunny day here and I will be enjoying good food with good company. This year the family gets an Easter bag with a few treats to enjoy. I've trimmed them with a paper chick and egg tags. I started knitting about 10 years ago. I had some great friends show me and I've continued to learn ever since from some great women at a local yarn shop, Creative Fibers in Windsor, CT. Sadly the store closed in September of 2016. The owner decided it was time to enjoy her grand baby and family, so I guess we can't blame her. This is where I learned to knit socks. My friends thought I was being very ambitious after only 1 1/2 years of knitting at that point, but I decided to give it a go. The shop owner was the teacher for this beginners class, and I'm so grateful for her showing me this new technique. Now socks are one of my favorite knitting projects. And voila here they are my monkey socks with the eye of the partridge heel flap. I hope you all enjoy this pair! So for this project, This is the Monkey Sock pattern by Cookie A. You can find the pattern on Ravelry.
I used 2 Knitter's Pride Karbonz circular US size 2, 16 inch needles and Caper String Theory sock yarn. |
