The Daily Marker Challenge, Day 30

6/30/2018

This is day 30 already! The month has flown by so fast. I didn’t get as much coloring in as I had wanted, but I will
definitely be coloring more in the future. I hope everyone has enjoyed this challenge as much as me. This is my latest watercolor project with my Tombow markers. They are easy to use and don’t make a mess!

I will have to post my finished project once it’s done. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

The Last of the Weekend Wrapup for Daily Marker Challenge...

6/26/2018

I still have a few cards to share from last weekend. I played around on the weekend with coloring and making cards to makeup for my couple of missed days. I had prestamped a stack of the Accented Blooms, so I colored a few more. This first card I used my alcohol Spectrum Noir and Stampin Blends. I decided to keep it monochromatic coloring to match the new Grapefruit Grove in color. I have to say I love this group of in colors. These bright colors really make things pop. Plus I wanted to show how you can mute the color a bit with keeping the card coloring all in the same family.

I have enjoyed the color challenge this month despite not being able to color everyday, I feel good about all the practice and new coloring techniques I’ve learned from Kathy Racoosin! She makes it so much easier with her great videos showing techniques along with tips and tricks. Checkout out Kathy today at The Daily Marker!

On both Fish Whisperer and the Hello card, I tried some new markers called Kelly Creates Dream Pens, since I got them for 40% off at Michael’s I thought, why not give them a try. I think I will try them with a watercolor card next to enhance/brighten colors.

Happy stamping and try the color challenge sometime if you haven’t had a chance. You will have fun, and see so many fantastic cards by so many creative stampers out there in our stamping community!

I started this card last week and finished it over the weekend. I continued to use Tombow watercolor markers with my Dove Blender pen to have this super cute Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp come to life. I’m loving these new stamps from the Heirloom Stamp Show at the beginning of June! I found some great stamps this year. These bright new in-colors are fabulous from Stampin Up. I used Blueberry Bushel cardstock and DSP.

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge 175

This week WWC175 is all about the guys. I’ve made a couple of cards this week for this challenge.

The first one is all about fishing. Since many of the men in our lives enjoy the sport of fishing, why not show it off using Lawn Fawn’s stitched windows with the Gina Marie Fishing die set and the small turtle from IO stamps.

For this next card I used Stampin Up’s One Wild Ride stamp set. I want to continue to show off some of the new Stampin Up colors, Merry Merlot and Gray Granite.

This card is perfect for the guy who loves his motorcycle. Plus who doesn’t want to take a ride on the open road of Route 66!

The Daily Marker Challenge, Day 23

6/24/2018

I guess I’m not surprised I’m behind on posting my coloring again... Although I’ve been continuing to try and color daily, I did miss a couple days because of those pesky 12 hour work shifts from the regular job. I will post more pics over the next few days so you can see what I’ve been working on.

I decided to tryout out my new watercolors from Grambacher with strathmore watercolor paper I had on hand. The stamp is Loving Lily 2 from Impression Obsession. This is the first time I’ve used watercolor paints and I feel pretty good about this first card. I felt keeping this image simple would help me from turning the colors muddy.

I hope you all enjoy it and check back for more cards this week. Plus don’t forget to checkout Kathy, the creator of The Daily Marker Challenge.

Color Challenge Day 15,16,17...

Last weekend I had to work, so I prestamped these using the new Accented Blooms stamp set. This stamp is great for coloring with any colors depending on your mood. I also wanted to continue to show off these new “In Colors” for 2018-2020. These new colors are rich, vibrant colors. I always like colors that pop to draw your eye to the card.

These cards will make fabulous Thank You and note cards for any occasion. As well, you could use the “hello” card as a birthday card by just adding a happy birthday sentiment to the inside.

Daily Marker Challenge, Day 10

6/17/2018

Day 10 of the challenge I tried out my new Tombow watercolor markers. They are so easy to use. I watched a couple videos first, which showed both ways to directly and indirectly apply the color. Plus great ways for blending the colors, as well as using the Dove Blender with these markers.

This stamp is by Sparkle N Sprinkle, called Fish Whisperer. I loved it as soon as I saw it at the stamp show earlier this month. It’s also perfect for coloring too, so it’s a win, win for me.

Daily Marker Challenge, continues...

Somewhere by day 4 of the challenge I got sick. Then I also had to work 3 - 12 hour shifts back-to-back, which is completely exhausting for me anytime let alone when I’m sick. But luckily I did get back to some coloring, and made a few cards. These cards I’m featuring are all done with alcohol markers. I used mostly Spectrum Noir and a few of the new Stampin Blends. All these cards feature stamps by Stamping Bella, because their stamps are so great to color.

Happy stamping and you can jump into this color challenge today. Check it out now!

Daily Marker Challenge, Day 3

Although I have been trying to color, I haven’t kept up with posting my coloring creations. This was actually my day 3 coloring using plain, cheap colored pencils I had laying around. This stamp is Stamping Bella’s Uptown girl Vienna and her Vespa. I love Stamping Bella stamps! Stamping Bella is always great for coloring with great, fun designs. I used the new Stampin Up in colors Blueberry Bushel and Pineapple Punch DSP to show off this color creation.

The Daily Marker 30 Day, Day 2

6/3/2018

Yesterday’s challenge was to layer some stamps and use stamps from multiple companies. I picked out the Bamboo Bucket from Rubbernecker and then the Lotus and Gerbera Daisy from Purple Daisy.

Day 2 - I have a few precut card bases. Today I used the shimmery white cardstock from Stampin Up. This is a heavy card stock, feels like #110.

I used my Misti to layer the stamps, and grabbed some post-its I had handy (why waste good masking paper.) I covered the images with post-its for the little layering around the bucket. Then for the coloring I use a combination of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and the new Stampin Blends.
