Hat Not Hate...

My local yarn shop, Ewe & You Fiber Arts LLC, has been collecting hats for the Hat Not Hate campaign started by Lion Brand Yarn in 2018. Luis Boris, the man behind Brooklyn Boy Knits, helps kids learn to knit out in communities with Lion Brand Yarn. This campaign has collected thousands of hats to date to help end bullying. Please checkout the campaign for more details and how you can donate and/or become active with their anti bullying campaign! #HatNotHate

Details on both hats can also be found on my Ravelry page.

I picked up this Classic Shades yarn at my local yarn shop Ewe & You last month to make one of my hats to donate. The color changes gradually and subtly throughout this hat. The pattern is Jimmy’s Bulky Beanie by Laura Zander which is free on Ravelry.

Now my other hat I wanted to use the Perky Little Hat pattern. I needed super bulky yarn so I grab some leftover blues of Malabrigo Rasta. Rasta is my favorite super bulky yarn. The Perky Little Hat is by Sharon Lentsch and free on Ravelry.

Both these hats were fun to make, and I was happy to contribute to a great cause.

Does anyone else have a cause or campaign they enjoy donating handmade projects to help people?

Happy knitting, crocheting, and any fiber making you enjoy! 🧶

Vacation knitting catch-up...

7/15/2019

My vacation earlier this month was time to check off some WIP’s before starting any other new projects... I picked a hat I casted on back in January, a pair of socks I casted on in 2013, and a sweater I have to finish from 2012, yes no typo there it was 2012 when I casted on this sweater. Then I worked on my Soldotna as well.

First up my sockhead hat by Kelly McClure which you can find on Ravelry as a free pattern. I used Legacy Fiber Artz yarn Jess Mariano in their Cozy Toes base (MCN fingering weight) and Grey Gardens in their Cloud base (mohair & silk) for a great halo effect. This hat is so soft and cozy, which will make it a great hat for this winter.

This picture was back a few months ago when I was working on my Endless Wrap, which came out fabulous. Checkout my post on it here.

So if you are in need of some zen knitting the Sockhead hat is a great project. Happy knitting to all my Fiber friends out there!
