Blissful Berkshire Retreat...

11/25/2017

The other weekend I went on the Blissful Retreat with some great friends, and met some new friends too. This was my first time at a retreat that was 3 days of stamping, yes 3 days of stamping!!!

I started out prepping by making packets for 8-10 cards. This consisted of cutting paper, prestamping images, deciding on embellishments, markers for coloring, embossing items, and any other little odds and ends together. It was my goal to get as many cards done as I could. I finished 67 cards that weekend! Wow! For me that was fabulous for my first retreat.

I also wanted to bring treats for all the ladies in the group. So I got an idea from the Cape Cop Creative Journey Retreat and went from there. So this was the idea and pieces to make the treats, because candies are always needed when stamping!

Here’s to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge!!

So after putting after all the pieces together this is how they came out. The theme of the retreat was orange and butterflies, so I incorporated them with it being fall the orange was easy. Then just adding a butterfly worked out so well.

Here’s the close up pictures of the treats. I added some candies in the card slot for when they needed a little pick me up. They were fun and easy to make. This gift card die Cutter from Lawn Fawn is fabulous and so versatile. Think outside the box and the crafts are endless!

Happy Thanksgiving 2017

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I hope this day finds you and your loved ones well. I am working but I will still be celebrating with good food, good people, lucky to be helping some sick people get a little better today. I’m a nurse at a local hospital in the Hartford area. I’ve been blessed to meet and care for some great people and families, as well as meet some other fabulous nurses.

Now if you said a year and a half ago I would be making cards, blogging on my own website, and a Stampin Up demonstrator, I would have said you were crazy! I never thought I would be creating cards and showing off my knitting (need to get those needles clicking). I hope you are enjoying this blog as much as I am. ❤️

This card is a spin on using the pumpkin pieces from my new Gina Marie Pumpkin Quilt die. Plus using the fabulous Painted Autumn DSP and Painted Harvest stamp set, how can you go wrong with any of these products! Add a little Wink of Stella and sparkle enamel dots and you have a fabulous card.

I am so grateful for the people who have ordered Stampin Up orders from me. I hope to have classes in my home in the future, but. In the meantime I would love to help you have a home party. It’s super easy, just email me, and I will work with you on setting up a great home party. You won’t have to do any of the prep work. Just put out some snacks and drinks and I’ll do the rest!

Have a a fabulous day with all those you cherish and live in the moment.

Simon Says Furry Friends...

I keep talking about the retreats I've been on the past month, and that's because they were so much fun! It was great to learn new techniques. Meet new people and get new inspiration. As well, I was introduced to some new and fabulous products. Newton’s Nook stamps are great and make some fun and cute cards.

I made this card while on my 2nd retreat. It was a retreat to work on any projects you wanted to that weekend. For me I was making cards for both Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. For this card I have used my new "Santa Paws" stamp and die set by Newton's Nook. I thought how cute to have "Santa Paws" dragging his bag of presents from the North Pole, and of course he will drop a couple along the way. I used Stickles glitter glue to make the hill snowy, and the microfine glitter from Elizabeth crafts to add some sparkle to the light and fur around "Santa Paws,"

Stamp Ink Paper 125

11/18/2017

I feel like I've been gone for too long. It's been a crazy few weeks with working every other weekend and then 2 retreats my weekends off I can't seem to catch up. I hope everyone is looking forward to the holidays and spending them with family, friends, and loved ones. I will be spending my Thanksgiving at the hospital having a work holiday party. Despite having to spend holidays at work, I always find once you get there we all come together to try and make a nice day for ourselves and our patients.

This color challenge for Stamp Ink Paper this week is perfect for the holiday. I've used my favorite DSP of the season, yes you know the one Painted Autumn. This DSP covers all the colors of the challenge Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, and Daffodil Delight. I used my new Pumpkin Quilt die and the sparkle autumn enamel dots for added bling from Gina Marie designs.

November Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Thanks to the Blogging Friends for inviting me to be a part of the monthly Blog Hop! I’ve enjoyed the blog hop for a while and seeing what great ideas the team creates each month so it will be fun to be able to share some of my cards with a bigger audience. I look forward to ideas and feedback from everyone too.

For this card a coworker asked me to make a birthday card for her mother. The new Painted Harvest stamp set is so pretty for both the fall theme and a great birthday card. As well, I love the Painted Autumn DSP. The colors are so fabulous. Then on the inside I used a quote from Helen Keller from Elizabeth Crafts designs. It’s such a beautiful saying for a birthday too. Then I added the ribbon for a birthday bow.

Thanks for for checking out my first blog hop with Blogging with Friends and I hope I can inspire some creativity like the rest of the team does each month! Please check out the rest of the team below!
